Workshop – Historical mine waste management a part of a sustainable solution for mineral raw material supply?

3 October 2023

When: 3 October (before the Svemin Envi summit in Örebro) kl. 8-17.
Where: “Labbet”, Innovationsarenan  MazeMap

Workshop description: There are many sites in Sweden, and especially in Bergslagen, with waste from historical mining. These could serve as a resource for metals and minerals, but at the same time there are challenges associated with the material, for instance heterogeneity, oxidized surfaces, secondary minerals, poor knowledge of content, ownership issues, legal rights, environmental issues etc. During this workshop we will focus on practical solutions of several of these issues using a specific problem solving method. Based on your different expert areas a white paper will be the final collaborative product that will be presented at the Svemin environmental conference the following day but also possibly published in a peer reviewed scientific journal.

Registration is for the members of our PhD Student Network.
