Zinkgruvan Mining

Zinkgruvan Mining operates Sweden’s southernmost underground mine, located in the community of Zinkgruvan two miles from Askersund and six miles south of Örebro. The company currently has more than 460 employees and also employs around a hundred contractors.
The mine has been in continuous production since 1857 and today produces world-class concentrates of zinc, lead and copper. Silver is also extracted at a later stage from the lead concentrate. Zinkgruvan Mining’s concentrates are sold mainly to customers in Europe.
Ore production in 2022 was 1.46 million tonnes of ore produced and turnover approximately SEK 3 billion.
Since 2004, Zinkgruvan Mining has been a wholly owned subsidiary of the Lundin Mining Group. Lundin Mining is headquartered in Canada and has mines on three different continents.
