Thank you for joining us in Luleå!
On 14–15 May 2025, representatives from across Sweden’s mining and minerals ecosystem gathered in Luleå for the final edition of Swedish Mining Research & Innovation Days. The event marked a significant moment: the last major conference hosted by Swedish Mining Innovation – and a launchpad for the next chapter, the national innovation programme Swedish Metals & Minerals.
Across two days, the programme offered reflection, foresight and dialogue – from lunar drilling and AI to moss-based remediation and social innovation. Participants also explored the Innovation Showroom, featuring 12 exhibitors including startups, networks and research projects – all contributing to a sustainable and resilient mining and minerals sector. The first day ended with the networking reception The Smelter Social.
With the theme Digging Deep, we explored achievements, milestones and the road ahead through three key lenses: Future Technology, Innovation Drivers and Societal Sustainability.
A heartfelt thank you to all Program Office staff, past and present, as well as to our speakers, exhibitors and participants. Your engagement, questions and encouragement made this event truly special. While this was our final summit, Swedish Mining Innovation continues until the end of 2026 – and we hope to see you again through ongoing collaborations and upcoming activities in Swedish Metals & Minerals.
Stay tuned and follow Swedish Metals & Minerals, to be part of what’s next!
