Swedish Mining Innovation ran two national networks: a PhD student network and an SME network. Both networks concluded when the programme ended in 2025.
A national meeting place for PhD candidates working on research related to mines, minerals and metals—supporting knowledge exchange, interdisciplinary perspectives and engagement with actors along the mining value chain. The network was coordinated by Luleå University of Technology.
In numbers: 149 members, 15 universities, 15 workshops.
An innovation arena creating meeting places between major mining-related companies and SMEs across Sweden through innovation challenges. The network was led by Erik Hagenrud, Swedish Mining Innovation.
In numbers: 18 innovation challenges, 124 submitted proposals, 52% from actors with no previous connection to the mining industry.
